About the course

The CareerFoward program takes on the challenge of assisting young people as they prepare for careers in the global market that is impacting their lives now and in the future.

Technology, along with many other factors, has leveled job prospects for people all over the world. Career opportunities are more diverse than they used to be, and students today need to be introduced to the growing global competition that they will face. Most important, they need motivation to plan and see the education that is so crucial for their futures.

This website is designed to provide a framework for students and teachers to use as they explore possibilities and learn how to prepare for the future.

The program contains about 20 hour-long online sessions using personal reflection and activities and gives each student an independent exploration of the possibilities for their future that will allow them to move on and create an Educational Development Plan (EDP).

Each of the links on this page provide context and guidance as to how most effectively to use the CareerForward program. Start with the Overview and go through each module so that you can understand how to make the most out of the program.

Actually, now is the PERFECT time to start thinking about your career. At no other point in life will you have access to as many people and resources to help as are available now. Your teachers, counselors, friends, and this course are there to put you on the road to your future.

This course, with the help of other people, can provide invaluable direction and purpose in finding the perfect career path for you.

Where do I start?

If you're a teacher, the first thing to do is download the facilitator's guide and use it to familiarize yourself with the web content and program content of this course. Be sure to spend adequate time going through the Teacher Focus features that will give guidance and ideas on how to make the most effective use of the CareerForward program.
